In our parking ramp at work, I had been backing into the corners out of the way, but security told me they wanted motorcycles in an actual parking spot, because they do a vehicle count every day. Definitely take the Harley question as a compliment. If people don't know the difference between the Savage and a $15,000 Harley, I'm ok with that. :-) And if you want to have a little fun with it, there are tons of smart a$$ replies to come back with: "No, my Harley's in the shop.", etc. :-) I usually keep to myself, but I do meet a lot of people through my motorcycles. If I see a bike at the gas station, I often say hi and visit about bikes for a few minutes. I've also started going on supper rides with my dealership. They are a great way to meet people and check out different bikes too. Ride safe and enjoy.
